The building is a part of the national cultural heritage “Důl Hlubina a vysoké pece a koksovna Vítkovických železáren v Ostravě” (Deepth Mine and Blast Furnaces and Coking in Vítkovice Ironworks in Ostrava.” It is the oldest exhibition pavilion in the country with a unique cast iron construction, which got almost lost in the western part of the monumental ironworks complex until 2007. The new location of the pavilion was chosen on the axis of Vítkovice Empire style castle in a restored part of the garden. Before fitting the new pavilion, its cast iron elements were intensely, fully restored. Solid panels are made of slightly translucent Onyx stone slabs. The pavilion is used as a scientific, educational, and social centre.
