Fránek Architects

We have built two buildings in Kamenná street in Brno. One is a house for my sister, in which she lives with her husband and two children, the other is my studio. The houses have the features of a sister and a brother. My sister’s house is rounded; my studio is narrow and tall. Rooftops of both buildings are at the same absolute altitude. Also, details and materials of both buildings are the same.
The studio in Kamenná street is a classic street building of six floors that completely fills the building plot. The simple, useful layout of the building served without any problems for several years. The building is continuously updated to be independent of power-lines as much as possible. It is a practical example of our work to for our clients, and an example of materials we use for our projects.
Its lowest level serves as a social area for frequent performances and lectures for the architects.
